*The sad part is, I'm only ...maybe halfway, or a third of the way, through "plot arc of that as book". *cough*. >_>; Well, at least I've gotten back in habit of working on writing!

1) For those who're on this but not on my personal journal:
Moving tiem is nao!
I've still been writing, it's just been entirely handwritten at work during breaks/slow times, and last week I really didn't get any time whatsoever to start typing what I'd written until Thursday night; I still have a few handwritten pages to transcribe, so technically my wordcount timing's v. off.
(People that I've been e-mailing copies to will be getting a new one some time today >.>; with the handwritten stuff added. If you aren't on that list and want to be, poke me and/or IM/PM/whatever me with an e-mail address, and I'll add you to the CC list.)
2) This is going to be such an ongoing project - it occurred to me recently that I'm maybe a third of the way into planned-plot-arc (for what would be 'self-contained novel', the scary part is I already know how it'd continue after this for a next-book), and I'm almost to 40K. o.o;
The even sadder part is that I'm looking back at the early parts and realizing that I've actually OMITTED more description/thought process/etc. that's usually 'good word count pad' than what I'd feel OK with in "version I'd consider acceptable for outside audience", if not always by much.
3) Comedy is realizing that besides one character who's off-camera and never really mentioned, and one who basically is "My god, a NaNo dare snuck into an important plot point" and won't be fully explained "this arc", that I have two demons on the "protagonist/good" side, and all of the named/visible angels/divine beings are on the OTHER SIDE trying to burn the world. Er. Well. Okay, technically there's a third who's in the plot that's NOT trying to burn the world, and is on protagonist side, he just spends most of the plot HIDING! :|
...And a fourth who doesn't show up until the end and is ... well .. uhm ... Gabe is Gabe and may not be entirely pointed out as "that's actually a goddess".

PS: I'm being outsmarted by the word count widgets. >.>; hlp plz?
I am here. If you are on NaNo, feel free to add me <.<
The title was the result of putting things on shuffle and grabbing an idea!
This is what it's from.
I'm ending up with a scary amount of notes and prepwork done in slow times at work, which SHOULD help with my word-count too when NaNo starts. ^___^

Give me

and I will give you a 100 word drabble. Request as many as you like.
...100 words being a loose guideline or something that may or may not actually be the case.

My hopes that it was someone yanking-chain were dashed.
There IS a season 2 of the Kuroshitsuji anime.
Still no word yet on how they plan on continuing that and yanno, making sense. What with all of what, five people in the named recurring cast still reasonably alive? (I mean, they kinda implied Tanaka being the only of the servants left alive, and had him closing up the logs and leaving the burned-out wreck of the manor...)
Not like making sense was ever really the anime's strong suit.
EDIT: I know I know I know!
:P They can start with older-Liz summoning Sebastian to Have Words with him for throwing a hissy-fit and disappearing in the middle of something that went entirely counter to his bindings and Contract and yanno...
Yeah. idefk.

I suppose the Dresden Files series that ran on Sci-fi a couple years ago is just fine if you've never read the books...
But DAMN is it hard to watch it again after getting through a few of the books. ._.;
Like, "...Who are these people, where are Murphy and Dresden, and why do things work all wrong and pulled-out-of-ass?" hard.
( Books vs. TV series! )

So yes. New Roommate + Jobhunting + getting this weird thing called an offline life have killed some of my updating. (okay, so the offline life consists largely of going out hiking/kite-flying/etc. now that the weather's nice, and Rock Band. That counts right?)
My parents are dorks, of the squishy, cuddly variety. Thanks to them, I now have a PS3 with a Rock Band set, + both Rock Band games, Folklore, and MGS4 (which I haven't started yet >.>; sorry Xhan and co., still need to play the first three).
Rock Band + 2 roommates that are more than happy to play = ridiculously fun. We also currently have the most loopy set of avatars ever possibly; granted Neuro just looks not quite right completely blonde. (And now, the three of us, when certain songs come on, will start seeing pitch bars or miming fret-notes or drum-notes.) Of course, my previous loathing for certain songs/bands (anything Rush, half of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aqualung) has only been magnified and intensified.
Folklore has eaten my brain, and I've managed to sprint through it - I've hit the beginning of Chapter 7 already and stopped to do sidequests before I push to finish the game.
The other brain suck, albeit going at a slower pace, is The Dresden Files books. (From what I remember of the TV series and watching it a couple years ago, I'm fairly sure the foofy wizard in my skull will be v. v. traumatized on watching it again.)
The offline life thing's making role-playing more scattered and I may end up dropping out of Cfeit - if I'm having this many issues with attention-budget now, it's only going to get worse come end of month when I'm employed. With everything else going on, I just haven't had much motivation to juggle. :/

One of the most bitter things Dave Carter ever wrote...
And one of my favorite songs of his, if only for personal experience/truth.
Because let's face it - if anything is worth being slightly bitter about, it's the tendency of society at large to treat anyone who doesn't fit stereotypical rubricks of "normal" as if it's a disorder and there's something massively wrong with them - the gifted kid that the school put on medication for ADD because they finished their reading assignments ahead of the class and didn't have anything else to do, because they were reading novels when their classmates were reading "See Spot Run". The high-school writer that got kicked out of class and given a criminal record for writing a zombie story set at a generic high school, treated as a terrorist threat. The gamer honors-student with a clean record that hangs out with maybe two or three friends and gets bullied and abused by the "popular good kids", then pointed out in college as "An example of a dangerous student with something WRONG with them" because they dress in black and don't want to be a social butterfly mindlessly seeking the approval of peers they have nothing in common with.
And everyone reduced to a stereotype or a bad internet joke because of a religious choice; spiritual belief; sexuality choice; dysphoria of gender, species, time, or place; or any number of other things outside the ordinary where they'd be perfectly happy and functional as such, and the greatest source of neuroses and stress is worrying about being treated as insane, fake, "just an attention-seeker", or the pressure to believe that something is wrong with you because you're not "ordinary".
On a not entirely unrelated note, I think I got renewed appreciation for one of my mother's historical heroes while uploading photos of Neuschwanstein to facebook -
And god if remembering that place doesn't make what happened to Ludwig II, and Neuschwanstein, damn depressing. Ludwig was the last king of Bavaria, you see, and wasn't very interested in ruling; much more interested in the arts and in trying to build various palaces and castles as works of art and homages to the legends and history he'd grown up with. He was one of Wagner's main patrons, and Neuschwanstein was his last castle, where he rebuilt the ruined foundations of an old knight's castle in the mountains, then decorated the interior as an homage to Wagner's operas and the legends they were based on.
He was declared insane, falsely accused of bankrupting public funds, deposed, restricted, and found dead within a year of such.
Neuschwanstein was never completed - most of the physical structure is there, but there was supposed to be a central keep and chapel that only exists as a flagstone outline in the upper courtyard; of the interior, only one third of it was actually completed.
This ends up being a very, very sad thing on a fairly profound level if you have any knowledge of what that one third is, and then stop and wonder just what the rest would have been.
This is the Singer's Hall; the walls are covered in murals of the tale of Parcival and the Holy Grail. The murals cover what's completed; walking through the finished areas, every room has the story of some myth or legend spread out across the wall. Like one of the hallways here - the scene with the blacksmith is the forging of Gram the dragon-slaying blade from the saga of the Nibelungen. As you keep walking, the entire saga of Siegfried is laid out in paintings.
If you go there, you get a tour of the parts that are finished...and get to spend some time looking at how huge the structure is, and how most of it is empty and bare walls where things never got made.

So. Watched the Neuro anime a while ago, finished watching the Kuroshitsuji anime last night.
...
...
For the record: Anywhere I roleplay or write for either Neuro or Sebastian, it is safe to assume they are manga-version, not anime-version.
Yes, there is a difference.
A very, very big difference.
And I think "...things just went to Brazil ._. *wtf*" referencing the Neuro anime just got an amplifier of ".... things just went to Paris."

We have an ashfall advisory until Sunday at 2 am - so I'm gonna be scarce. Off and on because I'm stupid that way, but scarce. We've already had some fall here and had to dash out to tarp the cars. >_>;
The volcano blew last night, just after midnight! It had five large eruptions and a nine mile ash plume.
The winds are running northeast-ish of us, so the nearest ashfall is nearly 50 miles away back in Palmer/Wasilla. (Yeah, where I used to be living. >w>) The majority of it is going up towards Cantwell and Denali; they don't expect it to hit Anchorage. In the meantime, the air force is grounding flights, but the airport is still open, with only a few airlines postponing or redirecting flights, schools are in session, and things are pretty much going on as normal. I'm still gonna be watching the volcano-observatory and ashfall predictions just in case the wind changes, but it looks like we dodged that bullet here!
...so maybe I'm not vanishing. >_>; *cough*

Mount Redoubt blew - so I'm gonna be scarce online for a few days; the ash is hitting here in a bit over half an hour, and the computers are gonna be shut off, if not wrapped in trash bags for safety, until the coast is clear for them.
This means no Birdy on WoW, AIM, or anything. >_>; Yarrgh.

Because of course, everyone knows that the audience of a given channel is defined by a five-letter name and stereotypical assumptions, and changing the five-letter name will MAAAGICALLY handwave away the stereotypical assumptions and make it something Mainstream!
Oh, right, and sci-fi and fantasy aren't "real" literature/entertainment/movies/anything, you have to label it something fancy and polish it and claim it's Not Really Science Fiction or Fantasy if you want it to be taken Seriously by people that aren't yanno, those uncool kids nobody likes, like, what-evar.

The wonderful thing about Italian food is that when you get away from the more extravagant recipes, you get things you can make off basically a bunch of cheap, easy-to-keep-around ingredients.

As of 1878, going by photos and diagrams of keyboard layouts, the shift key WAS a part of keyboard layouts. (I'm sure there must be a fairly easy to find online article about the history of keyboards, typewriters, and the like that gives an exact date for the invention of the shift key, but I can't find it in 15 minutes or less, and it's not THAT important atm to know EXACTLY when it was invented.)
Ergo, for purposes of Cfeit, Blip, and similar, characters from Victorian-era-ish that might have familiarity with typewriters WOULD probably know how to get capital letters out of the @#$#@ keyboard.
Ah, the niggling little idiot-details we end up looking up for our characters. ._.;

Fandom Mutation of Rule 34: The more character-important and visible a relationship dynamic is, whether friendly or hostile, the more likely the majority of a fandom is to interpret it as romantic/sexual in nature.
First Correlary: For any given fandom, the LESS canonically romantic/sexual and/or hetersexual a relationship dynamic is, the more likely the majority of a fandom is to interpret it as romantic/sexual. Ex: In most fandoms, the most popular ship will not be the main character and a canonical love interest; it will be the main character and their hated rival or childhood non-romantic best friend.
